Catalyst, a Festival of Church life

Only a few days left to go before Catalyst 2008, the festival showcase of what goes on in the Church in Wales, here and further afield.

The day packed with all sorts of events and interest for all sorts of people. There are Arts & Media Events; a Children's Party Tent; an Issues Tent; a Worship Tent;a Resources Tent; a Youth Zone and much much more! Nearly all of the events are under cover, so no worries about the weather!


The Arts Events include ...

Claire Jones, royal harpist
Chris Needs, music & chat show host from Radio Wales
Drama with Roughshod & Riding Lights Theatre Group
Stained glass workshop with Louise Diggle
History of Hymns and singing with broadcaster Hugh Ashley
Liturgical dance workshop
Liturgical music performance with Llion Williams
Cookery demonstration Display of sculptures and artwork
Schools display
Interactive artwork
Children's letters to God
Digital music workshop with St Cledwyn's Singers
Question Time with Jamie Owen and famous guests,
including a Baroness, a Lord and an Archbishop!

 

The youth zone will feature

inflatable five-a-side football
climbing wall
paintball tunnel
chill-out café
hair stylists
resources, techno displays and games
'prayer pod'


Local produce will be on sale and, of course there will worship throughout the day, including Taize Cathedral Iona, Contemplative Fire Worship and a Final Act of Worship for all.

Catalyst 2008 is on Carmarthen Showground from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 5th July
