Match Report

On the 3rd September MATCH celebrated it's first 3 months in operation.
In that time they have fed more than eighty people and clothed more than thirty. Quite an achievement considering that it all depends on people freely giving time and goods to benefit others.
MATCH started by setting up a Basics Bank in a room in the Cleddau Community Church building at Milford Marina. Local people and organisations have donated non-perishable food, clothing and toiletries and fund-raising events such as a Car Boot Sale have brought in cash to fund the purchase of more essentials.
Outside agencies such as Health Workers and Support Agencies issue Basics Bank vouchers to give to clients who are in an emergency situation.
In many cases this is better than giving a loan which would have to be repaid. A food parcel and/or clothing voucher gives immediate short term relief.
MATCH is a charitable organisation aiming to
relieve the effects of poverty for individuals and families in the
county of Pembrokeshire.
