Can you predict the throw of the dice?
 
The scientist in me wants to say:
"Yes, if I know the exact shape of the dice, and how they were held, and just how hard they were thrown, and the exact angle, and the air resistance
and ... and ...and ...and ..."
That'll be a "No" then!
 
Perhaps we should have more sympathy for the people for the people who are trying to predict social, economic and environmental changes in our world.
Without total knowledge they are trying to do the impossible and so they can only talk of probabilities.
 
Perhaps, we also should have a little more humility and stand in awe of the omniscient Creator who, in the words of the children's song, has the whole world in his hands.
